Nutrition   Program Description

Tai Sophia Institute’s proposed 15-credit hour Area of Concentration in Nutrition within the Master of Arts (MA) in Health and Wellness expands the field of nutrition by emphasizing wellness and long-term quality of life. With a more holistic philosophy that includes the study of wellness, the new concentration provides students another avenue to improve the overall well-being of the population and create a trend toward greater health and wellness. Concepts of wellness and sickness will be the focus including the role that language plays in supporting health and wellness. The Nutrition curriculum offers students the opportunity to gain coaching practice; the ability to work in institutional and corporate settings; practice coaching within an integrative health-care setting; consult; teach health and self-care; complete research; and work with schools, non-profits, and community groups.
